A race for memories
Since early last century, the Blackhall Sports Day has been the highlight of the area’s sporting calendar.
In June 2010 the event will celebrate its centenary. Since the first races in 1910 every summer, other than the war years, has seen children of all ages converge on Ravelston Park to take part in a huge variety of races.
To mark this special occasion, the Blackhall Children’s Sports Committee is looking for any photos, memories or anecdotes you may have from sports days past.
You may have a hard-earned medal, a photo of the slow bicycle races of the 50s and 60s, or even just a story of the race that got away.
